How to Grow Your Consulting Business: 2 Things Successful Entrepreneurs Do Differently

You blocked out a big chunk of precious time to work on that project. The piece of work that when it gets out into the world will grow your consulting business (and you) to the next level (Oh yeah, that project…) Two hours into your block of “creative” time, you have handled a bunch of “urgent” emails, posted a comment on your friend’s vacation photo, made a sandwich and shopped for a new label maker (which you so desperately need to be productive).

Why does it seem that the work that will grow you consulting business often triggers our strongest powers of procrastination?

When we are stepping onto our path towards the work we are here to do the whiff of success coming our way can trigger fear. The “what if this really happens and everything changes” kind of fear.

You can grow your consulting business by doing 2 things that successful entrepreneurs do differently that you can do NOW:

1. Get clear on the one thing that will make the biggest impact.

Where do you want to be in one year? Two years? What’s the next step to getting there? Take one thing at a time. Your one most important thing is always the most highly leveraged action you can take right now. Something you invest your time in once and it returns to you many times over.

2. Block dates with yourself to get the important work done.

You have to block time for what is important (which is not always the urgent thing knocking on your door).

If you want to make a change in your life, change something you do daily. If you want to grow your coaching business or grow your consulting business, then do what other successful entrepreneurs do differently.
What are you going to change today?
